Become a Donor
Community foundations offer flexibility and impact for your charitable giving. There are many options for you to
consider. Think about what you want your gift to do and contact us to discuss the best way for your donations to
make a positive difference while taking maximum advantage of federal and state tax regulations.
The Community Foundation is a collection of restricted and unrestricted "Funds" whose use is determined
by donors or the Board of Directors. These endowed funds are pooled for investment purposes, accounted for separately,
and annually provide income to make grants to charitable organizations. The use of income from unrestricted and field
of interest funds is determined by a competitive process managed by the Foundation's Grants Committee and approved by the
Board of Directors. Foundation staff monitor grants to assure accountability.
You may establish a Named Unrestricted Fund where the Board of Directors determines the best use of the income to meet the
ever changing needs of our community over time. You can also establish a Named Fund and determine its restricted purpose,
for the benefit of one organization or a field of interest, such as the environment or a specific geographic area.
You may contribute to an established Fund and make gifts in honor or memory of others. The Middlesex Enhancement Fund,
an unrestricted fund, has been created by the Board of Directors for gifts of any size from donors who want to provide
help where it is most needed and will do the most good.

determine the best options for your giving.
